About Me

Engineer. Analyst. Thinker.

The Professional Story

I'm an engineer who fell in love with the analytical side of the work.

Years in manufacturing and product development taught me to think carefully about variation, systems, and causality — to ask “why” until I reach a cause I can actually address, and to remember that the first answer is usually a symptom. That kind of patient investigation is the thing I find most interesting about technical work, and the thing I've spent the most time getting better at.

Now I work at the intersection of data and engineering, building tools that help people understand complex processes. Python, R, JMP, whatever else gets the job done — the language matters less than the thinking behind it. Most days, I'm working through enormous volumes of data to find what matters in it.

The same statistical thinking that works on industrial data turns out to work beautifully on public data too. Astronomical surveys from missions like TESS and Gaia. Civic datasets. Charts in the news that don't quite say what they claim to. Three series here explore those directions:

  • Mining the Sky — extracting real signals from public astronomical data
  • Drawing the Data — visualizations that tell a story beautifully
  • The Quiet Workshop — notes from building small, useful things

Most of what I write here is for the curious — the analyst who took stats in college and forgot most of it, the engineer who watches the sky sometimes, anyone interested in seeing numbers clearly, anyone who wants to tell stories with data. This site is where the work lives. Welcome. If something here makes you want to talk, my inbox is open.

Timeline

  • 2026

Promoted to Senior Staff at Intel Corporation

Delivered multiple data pipeline improvements that provided 100x or greater efficiency to reach actionable insights from semi-structured data. Worked as the primary bridge between Fab (IFS), IPG Testchip team and Design to solve complex Design-Process interaction problem statements.

  • 2023

    Graduated with an MBA

Completed a full MBA program online from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) with 6 specializations including Business Data and Leadership. The program took me a little over 2 years and I did this while working full time at Intel.

  • 2020

Promoted to Staff at Intel Corporation

Successfully executed as the de-facto Group Lead for Intel 10 process node's primary yield limiter (interconnects between Front End and Back End). The work ensured Intel 10's success in high volume manufacturing (HVM).

  • 2017

Graduated with a PhD and joined Intel Corporation

Finished PhD in Electrical Engineering (Solid state devices and Nanotechnology) in 4 years from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Go Blue. My research papers and journals from PhD later on enabled me to receive EB-1 extraordinary researcher based US Green Card.

  • 2015

Completed MS from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor

Completed a 36-credit Master of Science degree (MS) from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor while working on my PhD.

  • 2013

Graduated with a BE degree from India and moved to US

Completed my Bachelor of Engineering Degree from the Indian Institute of Engineering and Science Technology, Shibpur. I ranked 1st Class and 1st. For this rank, I was awarded the President of India Gold Medal, one of the highest academic honors for undergraduate students in India.
